bendy beans

Feeling connected. It’s at the heart of everything. The great richness and diversity of our communities is celebrated and drawn on by Mainspring. The more you contribute to something, the more a part of it you are. Our events and workshops seek to connect you with yourself, with each other and all of us with our community.

bendy beans yoga

We are really proud to have established our first bendy beans children’s yoga classes at John Stainer School in Brockley. These are fun sessions for ages 4 to 11, encouraging expression through movement, balance and calm: discover the shapes you can make and explore the stories you can tell with your body and your imagination. bendy beans classes also run at Gordonbrock School for ages 4–11 and at The Sunflower Centre for ages 4–8. Sessions are taught by YogaBeez teachers trained to use mindfulness and yoga to support each unique child’s wellbeing. All are DBS checked. To find out more and book, email yoga@mainspring.org.uk.

We aim to make these classes as accessible and affordable as possible. Two free places are created in each school-based class for children identified by the school as those who would most benefit. Part of the profits will contribute to generating further bursaries to train more parent-teachers. We plan to extend this project into as many local schools as possible. If you are a staff member or parent interested in bringing bendy beans into your school, get in touch. If you are able to make a donation to help train more parent-teachers we would love to hear from you: hello@mainspring.org.uk.
